I am always hearing about how people would like to see some kind of restrictions put in place to prevent children from getting hold of so much junk food but nothing ever really does end up being put in place.

As much as I am someone who believes that children should not be given too much junk food, I believe that completely taking it away from them never does them any favors as when they get older, they will crave it and then eat it too much.

Do you feel junk food should be banned for children or should it be allowed in moderation?

I don't think it should be outright banned to children, but given in moderation. It's okay for children to have some junk food here and there, only when they're getting a proper balanced meal. Junk food can be used to reward your children, not often of course but it's a nice treat every once in a while.

I am with you on this one. A full ban would be crazy to enforce.
Bear in mind kids go behind your back and all that.

The more unfairness is perceived, the more deceitfully children are likely to behave, the more negatively affected the relationship between the parents and kids.

I am too supporting the ban of the junk foods in our society. This is because junk foods is not good for the health of our kids and the people in general and that I don't see a reason whatsoever it should continue to be used.
Many would argue that it was taking away their right to decide what they wanted to eat it being their body.

I wouldn't say banning junk food outright is a good idea but instead limit how many fast food places there are and have rules and restrictions in place when it comes to offering deals. I know where I live, we have two places that offer buy one get one free and I have seen many get way too much food as opposed to what is needed.

Well, as Eminem said, "Where's the parents?". Why should it be the government's role to be a nanny? In fact, making them a nanny causes a creepy 1984 situation.
I agree with this but I also feel that governments can do something to prevent so many options for those who take the easy way out to gain access to fast food as easily as they can.

I am not sure what it is like in the US but in the UK, we seem to have takeaways on every street almost, it can be a bit too much and results in many relying on them because they can.

Governments talk about obesity but don't do enough to stop the issue at hand which is the amount of takeaway places available. Granted they can not nanny every child but they could do something to make it less easy to get hold of in the first place.

I don't feel it should be completely banned. They can consume junk foods in moderation. First and foremost, whether or not their parents like it, they will eat it as they get older. They should only advise their children and remind them that consuming too much junk food is hazardous for their health.
