DM or PM?

I know they means the samething. But which would you rather call them? A DM or A PM?

For me I call them PMs. Just what I am used too.

I call them DM when I am mostly discussing on a social media platform such as Whatsapp or Twitter because that is what majority of the users call it there.

I have always called the PM as that is what everyone else has called them. I have seen that some people do call them DM and if they use that then I tend to use that as well but for the most part, I call it PM.

I normally use DM when I am using social media and want a direct message from another user. However, when I am using forums, I use PM when I want to refer to private messages.

I find that people generally use PMs for forums, DMs for chatrooms

and or social media message, as well as misuse inbox as a verb

Both of them works just fine for me. I make use of anyone that comes up for me when I want to tell someone to send me a message or that sent him or her a message.

Keep a journal and every time you use either abbreviation
