What is the right age for a person to start working?

I think everyone child is different and should be entitled to make their own decision. Also, depends on family circumstances.

Some children want to get into medicine. They should ideally focus more on their academic qualifications.
Not everyone is academic. I think the child should do what they feel is best for themselves.

Thanks for the nice insights that you have shared with us.

In my country a person is entitled to be an adult at the age of 18 years whereby the law allows them to make their own decisions. So at 18 years the child is no longer in the custody the parent any longer. They can decide to work, or do anything as per their decisions.

Same here in the UK. Please remind me where you are based again - is it Nigeria if I remember correctly? :)
But one can get married, live alone age 16 or work without parental consent.

I started working at the 12 years old and I'm very proud of myself doing that. Most of my age mates were busy lazing at home but I did so well to help my mom out as I lived only with her. But by law, the age of 16 is what's required for someone to start working here.
In my country people may allowed to work official by the government at the age of 18years..

In my country, a child is able to work and do something such as delivering newspapers and magazines from the age of 13. Of course, this is not compulsory and it is the choice of the child if they wish to do this job for a little extra spending money each week.

I believe a child should be able to work and do something such as delivering papers from that age as it can teach them responsibility not only in terms of a job but also in terms of money as well.

I think that is a very great idea for the kids to work for the little spending money and learning how to earn money as well.
Unfortunately that is very impossible in my country. The Job for the delivery of the newspaper for instance is being done by an whole adult who is expected do everything on life with it like paying the house rent, buying food, educating the children among other household activities that requires the usage of money.

In my country, the legal age to work is 18. However, in some areas, minors are allowed to work. They are hired in the market as sellers or helpers.
This is for a simple reason: their parents are poor families so they need to work to help their parents to surpass their hard financial situation. Additionally, their parents cannot spend money for their study purposes so if they could provide them with food and a place to sleep it would be quite enough depending on their money.

I would start teaching my kids about labour at such a young age. They would work part time and earn from 10 years old. That would be my own way of imparting financial education that money is only gotten from offering value. I have seen kids aged 8 that start working and earning with their inherent skills.

This is the most challenging part. If you're giving them money without work they spend lavishly the money while case differ if they work with you and get salary they will calculate everything spent reasonably.
