The shooting at Nashville school just happened.

Now, onto another shooting at Kentucky at a bank. 😠

Kentucky governor has previously spoken in favour of gun control

The Governor of Kentucky, Democrat Andy Beshear, who we heard from at the news conference a little earlier, has had previous plans for tighter gun control rejected.

Following the Rob Elementary School shooting in May last year, Beshear said the Republican-controlled Kentucky Legislature had not "entertained" any gun control plans.
Speaking about tightening gun laws at the time, he said: "That would have to be a conversation that legislative leadership would entertain and in recent years they have not entertained any of them."

Mr Beshear said that he had filed a Bill to remove guns from people deemed dangerous by a court - a so-called 'red flag' law - but no vote was taken.

OMG!!!! they need to make a change!!!
YES!! They need to ban guns!!

Only issue is, though, what do we do with those who already own guns? It's likely to increase the number of criminals in the short term. Surprised that's not a point that's already been raised. It will take a lot of work to eliminate the current gun possessions. Such drastic change may lead to protest which can be drastic... with many purposefully firing guns.

START issuing fines!!!

the police need to start being stricter and enforce new rules, yes it could start protests but they need to do something as its getting out of control!!

I think it's likely to lead to chaos though. It's the legitimate citizens who will suffer as the criminals will not be deterred by such a fine, meaning the majority of the population will not have the means to defend themselves.

Agree with you, but what choice do they have?

Action needs to be taken..

and look for certain personality disorders that impairs one's judgement and prevent them from owning guns.
Me? I'm strongly against stereotypes; many people with neuro-diverse conditions have developed strategies and think it would be unfair discrimination. I agree that a medical assessment would be best. Many professionals have a tendency to stereotype though.

America needs to get back to "family" however that's defined. People need support systems. There will always be guns in the US...you could take the guns away from the good guys, but the bad guys will never give up their guns. It's a serious problem, but I believes it starts with people caring for each other, having that moral compass, and maybe a little faith and I'm not saying any one religion, just whatever is comforting and makes sense that's inspiring.

First world problem sadly. Consider the amount of knife crime in the UK.

It's awful, and very sad all of the knife crimes in the UK...that's another good point too. When you take away the guns people will find something else to use instead, like knives.

True. Thin line, but consider the difference between the ability to shoot from a distance, and having to tackle someone physically ;)

Very good point. :)
