Should bands allow songs to be used for advertisements?

Paul McCartney was angry about Michael Jackson buying the Beatles catalog and allowing at least one song for use in an advertisement. Do you feel he is justified? Why or why not?

I feel that as the copyright holder, Jackson had the legal and moral right to allow anything he wished to do with the Beatles songs.

Yeah, it's a fair marketplace. McCartney had his chance to buy, but he was being too much a nice guy, thinking that the deceased Lennon was part-owner.
