Does the death penalty serve as an efficient deterrent to criminal behaviour?

The times of the Bible were very different times than now. I don't know why we should base our laws and customs totally on Ancient Israel. Well, I mention this because a lot of conservatives in the US will point to Biblical commands for the death penalty.

Why do people hate Jewish people?

There are many reasons and I'm not defending them. One is that they claim they were a major group bringing on Communism. This idea was fed by the fact the 2nd in command in the Russian Revolution was Leon Trotsky. Anyway, of course, this was a major "so called" justification for the...

Is too much praise bad for a student?

On one forum, someone was saying that it caused students to lose focus. Anyway, on the movie Whiplash, the drum teacher never praises the students at all. This seems too extreme for me.

    Is abortion murder?

I think it's used to get rid of healthy normal babies and ones that are mildly disabled. Now, with the case of severely deformed babies who may have also been the victim of parental neglect (meth use or something), the question becomes more complicated and harder to solve with ethics.

    Has technology made people lazy?

I'm actually sick of technology and this is even from someone into web development. I mean, I long to be away from it and at work I am away from it. Anyone feel similar?

Do you do more of sitting or standing at work?

I work at a fast-food restaurant. I'm on my feet all day, but it's not a big deal cause I'm in aerobic shape. Anyone else in similar jobs?

Do you people still discipline your children by rods?

I don't agree with corporal punishment for stuff aside from being a brat. For instance, if people don't do their homework, they shouldn't be corporally punished, but that was the case with some teachers when I went to middle school (early 90s). Actually, corporal punishment should only be used...

Do you people still discipline your children by rods?

It's fine if it can be done without abuse. In other words, hitting on the head and other areas is wrong. Where it is traditionally done is fine. Myself, I don't have custody of my kid. I suppose the rod would be fine sometimes, but not as abuse.

Another Democrat Enters the Race to Replace Biden

Unfortunately, you have to have the backing of money to get anywhere and even this Young Turks lead host doesn't have enough fame. Well, I think he's probably not trying hard enough to beat Biden. You would have to be ruthless.

    Aliens

Some people think there is a low probability any of this intelligent life has left whatever planet they're on. It's just the same situation as with Earthlings. I mean, it's tough to leave a planet even for smart beings.

It could be a strong possibility alien life exists in a great amount, but what is seen here isn't alien.

Old German Soldiers Justifying World War II

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PJkNZ30WV0 I don't really buy it. Obviously, they've deluded themselves. Well, while it was true the Germans were fighting Bolshevism, they were also literally trying to ethnically cleanse Russia to make room for Germans. However, these guys are...

Are we repeating World War II appeasement?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/opinion-the-west-must-not-repeat-in-ukraine-the-mistakes-that-led-to-world-war-ii/ Putin has a lot of sympathy in the world. It's just like how Germany did before World War II. Do you feel this is a real problem?

Do you like pills or Injection?

I prefer hanging. Just kidding. :D O.K., I don't really care about the method. I'm not scared of needles, except I did act like a little wimp and fainted when I was 10 years old, ha ha.

Is Putin a hero or not or someone in-between?

Bigger fish in the sea calling the shots is the way it always goes. We can't pretend the US and other countries don't also do this. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/putin-ally-says-neighboring-country-will-not-exist-in-five-years/ Basically, the link is saying Moldavia should vote-in some...

Another Democrat Enters the Race to Replace Biden

Uygur hasn't one any primaries so far, I think. I think Biden has won them all. Is that the case? Anyway, of course, Uygur is a better candidate. I wonder how he could come on top.
