Do you believe there should be a limit to how much television children should watch?

I always hear opinions about how people feel children watch too much television and how they should do other things during that time rather than waste it watching television.

I always used to allow my children to watch television and I never saw an issue with it as a lot of the time, they would lose interest in the television and go off to play with their toys or their siblings instead,

Do you believe there should be a limit on how much television a child should watch per day?

It's not only kids that should be limited to how long they should watch TV, adults too need to cut down on how long they do the same thing. Too much screen time isn't good for the eyes. It doesn't matter if you're an adult or a kid, your eyes will suffer for it.

Everything in life should be regulated else it would be abused. It is understandable that they get bored and leave to do other things but for kids that have started showing addiction to the TV, you have to consciously limit the screen time.

I can still remember some years ago when my junior brother was so addicted to watching television that he couldn't read his books and this resulted in him failing all of his exams which my mother dealt with him seriously.
